FAQs

Flux is a water-based contrast therapy lounge in Bend built around hot soaking, cold plunging, rest, and connection. There are no time limits in the Social Lounge, so you can settle in and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

Think less “spa itinerary” and more modern bathhouse. Come solo, bring friends, meet people, or simply settle into the atmosphere. No screens. No rush. Just water, community, and a little nervous system recalibration.

Absolutely. Most people who walk through our doors are trying contrast therapy for the first time. There’s no “right” way to do Flux. Some guests plunge immediately, some spend their whole session in hot water, and some just come because it feels good. No experience required.

You’re not charged when you book. We collect your card information to hold the reservation, and our host team applies any first-time discounts when you check out after your visit.

The Social Lounge is our large communal soaking space, designed for up to 25 guests at once with a shared hot pool, cold plunge, and lounge seating in a social, relaxed atmosphere.

Our Private Lounges offer a more intimate experience for up to 8 guests, with a private hot pool, cold plunge, shower, changing area, and sound system. Great for date nights, celebrations, small groups, or having the space to yourselves.

That’s right. All water, baby.

Flux is built around hot soaking, cold plunging, and slowing down. Saunas are great, but we believe water offers a uniquely comfortable and accessible contrast therapy experience.

There’s no “right” way to do Flux. Start hot. Start cold. Bounce between both. Stay in one pool the whole time if that’s your thing.

Most guests naturally rotate between heat, cold, rest, hydration, and conversation over the course of their visit. No timers. No whistles. No performance.

No timers. No whistles. No performance.

Need a little structure? We got you.

Start in the hot pool and give your body a few minutes to fully warm up. Once you feel ready for the cold plunge, slow things down and focus on your breath. Slow, deep belly breaths.

For your first plunge, aim for at least 30 seconds. One Mississippi, two Mississippi… you can do it. Don’t hold your breath! Then head back to the hot pool and repeat. Most people naturally stay a little longer in the cold with each round.

A good starting point is 3 rounds, but there’s no magic number. The first plunge is usually the hardest part, and mostly mental. Once your brain realizes you’re safe, it gets much easier.

This is probably our most common question, and the answer is a little more interesting than you might think.

Many “saltwater pools” still use chlorine. Salt is converted through electrolysis into hypochlorous acid, which is the same sanitizer we use in our pools.

At Flux, we also use UV filtration, which helps us maintain very low sanitizer levels and a much gentler experience than most public pools. This is also why showering before soaking is so important.

Fun fact: that strong chlorine smell at public pools is usually chloramines formed when chlorine binds to sweat and oils. Ironically, a strong chlorine smell often means the water chemistry is out of balance, not extra clean.

Bring a swimsuit and something comfortable to change into afterward. We provide towels, lockers, showers, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Please shower before entering the pools. It helps us maintain cleaner water and lower sanitizer levels.

Flux is intentionally screen-free, so phones and cameras should stay in the lockers while you’re in the lounge areas.

Guests must be 18+ to visit Flux.

Nope. Flux is open to both members and drop-in guests.

That said, memberships are definitely the best way to experience Flux regularly. Members receive discounted visits, private lounge discounts, guest passes, member-only events, and a few surprise perks along the way.

Yes! Flux gift cards are available online or in person at Flux, and make a pretty great gift for anyone who could use a little relaxation, recovery, or nervous system reset.
